Why Wikipedia ranks better ?

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 7:46 pm

Well, when you search for some “damn” thing, the first result that view in Google would be from Wikipedia. How did Wikipedia grow this much ?

The answer lies on various things. The first and foremost is the PageRank of Wikipedia (its 9 !). But there are various other things which make it rank better than other sites. The next important criteria is the number of inbound links.

Inbound links are always good, when you use it in a right way. Inbound links should be handled carefully. Wikipedia has done that excellently. For all the Wikipedia pages you should view atleast 20+ inbound links to Wikipedia’s other pages. This makes the user and Google interlink the concepts.

Well because of these things Wikipedia always ranks better !

How dominant is Google now ?

Filed under: Google — admin @ 10:42 pm

Well Google is dominant now, but my question is whether Google has the capacity to handle its competitors ?

The answer may be yes or no, depending on your usage of the World Wide Web. Google is yet to master local listings on various fields. It could only tell you the “Content” you are looking for and not the “One” which you are actually looking for. Probably this should hurt Google a lot.

Today, many mushrooms have grown up, to compete against Google(???). Well, they may be just mushrooms, but the count of such mushrooms have always been increasing, which is a severe threat to Google.

Let us see How Google is going to manage these threats from various Mushrooms. Time will answer the question !
